Synopsis

“When Gia Montgomery’s boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she has to think fast. After all, she’d been telling her friends about him for months now. This was supposed to be the night she proved he existed. So when she sees a cute guy waiting to pick up his sister, she enlists his help. The task is simple: be her fill-in boyfriend—two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies. After that, she can win back the real Bradley.

The problem is that days after prom, it’s not the real Bradley she’s thinking about, but the stand-in. The one whose name she doesn’t even know. But tracking him down doesn’t mean they’re done faking a relationship. Gia owes him a favor and his sister intends to see that he collects: his ex-girlfriend’s graduation party—three hours, zero commitment, a few white lies.

Just when Gia begins to wonder if she could turn her fake boyfriend into a real one, Bradley comes waltzing back into her life, exposing her lie, and threatening to destroy her friendships and her new-found relationship.”

Review

I can’t get enough of Kasie West’s novels! This is the third one I finished in the last week and each only took a day because THEY ARE JUST THAT GOOD! This story is another contemporary self-discovery that also has a beautiful romance.

I don’t know how she does it, but each and every male lead of Kasie’s finds a way into my heart. Hayden, the male lead of this novel, is adorkable. I love his enthusiasm for acting and loyal personality it was the perfect medicine for Gia’s previously selfish ways.

And while Gia is the top of her school, popularity wise, she is still very relatable when it comes to her vulnerabilities.

I need more contemporary romances from this author! They are addicting and keep me up into the middle of the night. I definitely recommend them.

About the Author

I write YA. I eat Junior Mints. Sometimes I go crazy and do both at the same time. My novels are: PIVOT POINT and its sequel SPLIT SECOND. And my contemporary novels: THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US, ON THE FENCE, THE FILL-IN BOYFRIEND, PS I LIKE YOU, and BY YOUR SIDE. My agent is the talented and funny Michelle Wolfson.

  1. I loved this book, too! I just finished On The Fence this week and it’s the last book I had to read to catch up on all of Kasie’s books … I’m so sad there are no more to read, but I’m seriously thinking of rereading them now! I’m happy to find someone else who loves her writing!
