Synopsis

“An irresistible story from Kasie West that explores the timeless question What do you do when you fall for the person you least expect?

When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn’t come. No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?”

Review

I must say that being stranded in a library with an attractive male is a dream for me. This is such a wonderful book. I loved every second of it! Kasie West, yet again, delivered a fantastic contemporary romance novel. I loved it just as much, if not more than P.S. I Like You. She is great at bringing together a romance in a slow, steady manner that doesn’t seem completely ridiculous.

Aside from being a romance, this book is an excellent explanation of what it feel like to have anxiety. While I don’t experience the type of anxiety that needs to be regulated with medicine and doctors, I am one who constantly overthinks things and thinks of the worst possible scenarios so I could relate to this story in a small sense. Again, my anxiety by no way as drastic as the anxiety displayed in this novel. Anxiety is something that is not sympathized with enough. It is often brushed under the rug and disregarded, and this novel forces the reader to understand that it is much more than that, it is a mental disability that can be very serious.

The way this story handles anxiety and the excellent characters made this a fantastic novel. I need to get ahold of the rest of Kasie West’s novels because they make my heart happy.

About the Author
