AS I AM NOW CO-HOSTING EXPLORING MY BOOKS WITH ADDLEPATES AND BOOK NERDS, OUR TOPIC THIS WEEK IS

A Book I’ve Borrowed

I utilize my local library A LOT! I go at least once every 2 weeks to browse, do homework, or just for a walk (it’s a couple blocks from my house). So I have borrowed copious amounts of books from my library over the last 20 years. One genre I typically get from the library, as opposed to buying it myself, is manga. Manga is very expensive when I factor in the little time it takes me to finish one volume, so I usually borrow them from the library. I currently have Special A Vol. 1 by Maki Minami check out. This is a manga series I have read a few times, yet and reading again because of how cute it is. (I currently have the baggie from last month’s Owlcrate as my bookmark because it was the closest thing to me while I was reading.)

Special A by Maki Minami

From Goodreads

“Her whole life, Hikari Hanazono has been consumed with the desire to win against her school rival, Kei Takishima–at anything. He always comes out on top no matter what he does, and Hikari is determined to do whatever it takes to beat this guy…somehow!

At age 6 Hikari lost to Kei in an impromptu wrestling match. Now, at 15, Hikari joins “Special A,” a group of the top seven students at a private academy, for the opportunity to trounce the guy who made her suffer her first defeat.

To participate in the Exploring Your Bookshelf meme hosted by Addlepates and Bookworms and myself, here’s what you do:

  1. Post a picture of your bookshelf (preferably literal, but e-shelves work too).
  2. We’ll give you something about your shelf to write about. It might be your favourite cover, your favourite author, your book you most recently bought etc.
  3. Then give us the blurb and the cover of the book (and what you thought of it if you’ve read it)
  4. And finally, come back to one of our posts and send us a link! We promise to check out all of your posts!
