Marie Kondo’s unique KonMari Method of tidying up is nothing short of life-changing—and her first book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, has become a worldwide sensation. In Spark Joy, Kondo presents an in-depth, illustrated manual on how to declutter and organize specific items throughout the house, from kitchen and bathroom items to work-related papers and hobby collections. User-friendly line drawings illustrate Kondo’s patented folding method as it applies to shirts, pants, socks, and jackets, as well as images of properly organized drawers, closets, and cabinets. This book is perfect for anyone who wants a home—and life—that sparks joy. “ -Goodreads

REVIEW

While I may not follow the steps to KonMari’s method to the T, I love how her books make me feel. They are encouraging and they actually make me want to tidy up. Since reading the Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up last year I have been noticeably cleaner. Occasionally the way Kondo personifies possessions is a bit strange, but I like it a lot. It gives a greater acknowledgment for the things we own and whether they are worth us owning them. Since starting this book I tidied boxes I had stored in the garage (going from 5 boxes down to about 2), and I’ve cleaned out my closet (donating 3 bags of clothes that I did like/wear/want). This book has made me want to have an organized space of my own. The lack of clutter and purging of unwanted clothing has allowed me to actually want to leave my closet open as it gives me joy to see everything in its place.

When was the last time you tidied?
