Rowell,Rainbow_&_MeThis past week I was very busy! I got to help clean up a river front with Living Lands and Waters (I will never intentionally use styrofoam again!), I had a couple robotics meetings (we’re making great progress), and most importantly, and excitingly, I went to my very first book signing! Last night  Rainbow Rowell and David Levithan came to St. Louis to share their new books and have a conversation. It was absolutely amazing. They are both beautiful writers! Levithan, David_&_MeI bought a copy of Fangirl, Carry On, Every Day, and Another Day, and I got them signed by their respective authors. While I’ve already read the David Levithan books, and Fangirl, I am excited to delve into Carry On! Just from the passage Rowell read aloud, it is fantastic. Here is how my week panned out in the literary world:

Maas, Sarah J.; Heir of FireKaling, Mindy; Why Not MeCharles, K.J.; A Seditious Affair

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
A Seditious Affair by K.J. Charles

I have actually read a couple more chapter further in Heir of Fire, I’m just am not as interested when it gets to the Ironteeth witches, so I usually set the book down when those chapters pop up. I impulse purchased Mindy Kaling’s new book when I went to Barnes & Noble last week. I’ve only read the first section so far and it is very entertaining and funny. The third book, A Seditious Affair is an ARC I got through Netgalley. So far it is good, word of warning for anyone wanting to read it, it is quite explicit.

Leblanc, Jenn; The Duke and the Baron

The Duke and the Baron: Absolute Surrender by Jenn Leblanc

This novel took on a very interesting twist. The review will be posted next month! I came across this as a free book on BookBub, and while not the best free book I’ve obtained, it wasn’t awful either.

Maas, Sarah J. Maas; The Assassin's Blade

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas

This book is indefinitely shelved until I finish Heir of Fire, and at the rate I’m currently reading it, it will be quite awhile.

W…W…W…Wednesday is a meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words where you answer three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

  1. I really like the Witches! But I can totally understand that feeling, where you just give up instead of carrying on until the good bits. Rainbow Rowell is one of my favourite authors, so I’m insanely jealous that you got to meet her!!

  2. GAH, I had tickets to that event! I’m so sad I couldn’t end up going; I’m a teacher and we had parent conferences that night (little to my knowledge when I got the ticket). My friend was able to go and get my book for me, and she said it was great. At least I got a chance to see Rainbow Rowell briefly at NerdCon!
