AS I AM NOW CO-HOSTING EXPLORING MY BOOKS WITH ADDLEPATES AND BOOK NERDS, OUR TOPIC THIS WEEK IS
A book that explores another book by a different author.
Growing up I had a deep obsession with Harry Potter, as many others do. I read many books that took the world of HP deeper. For example The Sorcerer’s Companion shown below to be one of the corner books in my tower of books, gave me greater insight into divination and arithmancy. If you ever wondered what arithmancy actually is, besides being just another class that Hermione couldn’t pass up, this is the book for you.
Which books do you have that explore other books?
To participate in the Exploring Your Bookshelf meme hosted by Addlepates and Bookworms and myself, here’s what you do:
- Post a picture of your bookshelf (preferably literal, but e-shelves work too).
- We’ll give you something about your shelf to write about. It might be your favourite cover, your favourite author, your book you most recently bought etc.
- Then give us the blurb and the cover of the book (and what you thought of it if you’ve read it)
- And finally, come back to one of our posts and send us a link! We promise to check out all of your posts!

I did a post similar to this recently, called books about books. My favorite is the All Souls Trilogy, where a witch and a vampire team up to find a long lost magical manuscript.
