AS I AM NOW CO-HOSTING EXPLORING MY BOOKS WITH ADDLEPATES AND BOOK NERDS, OUR TOPIC THIS WEEK IS

A Book of Poetry.

It would have been an avalanche if I had tried to pull out a book of poetry from my book tower, so here’s a photo of the spine. If you can’t tell which one it is, it is the one above the Aeneid by Virgil. My book of poetry is Poems by Whittier. I vaguely remember reading something by Whittier back I my American Lit class my junior year of high school, but that was 7 years ago. In case you didn’t know, John Greenleaf Whittier is an American poet from 1800s who has a cool name and wrote anti-slavery poetry and prose. As stated before, I don’t remember much of what I’ve read by him, and as the books is buried in my stacks, it may be a while before I get to him again.

What poetry do you own?

To participate in the Exploring Your Bookshelf meme hosted by Addlepates and Bookworms and myself, here’s what you do:

  1. Post a picture of your bookshelf (preferably literal, but e-shelves work too).
  2. We’ll give you something about your shelf to write about. It might be your favourite cover, your favourite author, your book you most recently bought etc.
  3. Then give us the blurb and the cover of the book (and what you thought of it if you’ve read it)
  4. And finally, come back to one of our posts and send us a link! We promise to check out all of your posts!
