AS I AM NOW CO-HOSTING EXPLORING MY BOOKS WITH ADDLEPATES AND BOOK NERDS, OUR TOPIC THIS WEEK IS

Graphic novels & Manga.

Before I get into the topic, in case you didn’t notice, I rearranged my books again. I bought a desk, the first one I’ve had in over a year which caused me to displace a lot of my novels. Most of the paperbacks were removed to be triple stacked on the shelf in my closet, and a bunch of my favorites were moved to the other side of my bedroom.

While I do own quite a few manga novels, I want to showcase a graphic novel that is absolutely wonderful, and that is The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. I read this book for a college course on globalization and it stuck with me. It shows the reader what it is like to move to a new land with varied customs and traditions. I absolutely recommend it.

Which graphic novels do you own?

To participate in the Exploring Your Bookshelf meme hosted by Addlepates and Bookworms and myself, here’s what you do:

  1. Post a picture of your bookshelf (preferably literal, but e-shelves work too).
  2. We’ll give you something about your shelf to write about. It might be your favourite cover, your favourite author, your book you most recently bought etc.
  3. Then give us the blurb and the cover of the book (and what you thought of it if you’ve read it)
  4. And finally, come back to one of our posts and send us a link! We promise to check out all of your posts!
