“Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won Prince Maxon’s heart. Now the time has come for Princess Eadlyn to hold a Selection of her own. Eadlyn doesn’t expect her Selection to be anything like her parents’ fairy-tale love story. But as the competition begins, she may discover that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she always thought. ” -Goodreads
While I was completely satisfied with “The Selection” only being a trilogy, I was very grateful that Cass continued the story. Seeing the selection from a strong, independent woman’s point of view was interesting. I understand Eadlyn’s desire to stay single, at least for a while so that she can rule wholeheartedly.
As it has been many months since I read the first three novels, I had forgotten many of the characters, so I was a bit confused, and then happily surprised about where some of them ended up. For example Aspen, who was America’s first love, becomes a General and lives in the palace with them.
Besides the beginning minor confusion, I’ve come to love these new, interesting characters. This is a wonderful series with a lot of intriguing plot twists, I thoroughly recommend it.
