My mini-soundtrack for the book The Van Alen Legacy by Melissa de la Cruz. I’m apologize for all my Soundtrack Saturdays being about the same book series, but that is what I’ve been reading lately.

0:00 Song 1
Easier to Run, Linkin Park
The novel starts with Schuyler and Oliver on the run from the conclave. At the end of the last book, Revelations, Schuyler lost her grandfather. She has to bottle up her grief so that she can stay alive.

3:24 Song 2
Mmmm Yeah, Austin Mahone feat. Pitbull
Mimi Force is one of the vainest characters I’ve read. This song encapsulates how she see herself, the center of everyone’s attention.

7:18 Song 3
Somebody I Used to Know, Gotye [[The version I have in the youtube video is the glee version because I prefer the lovely vocals of Darren Criss and Matt Bomer over Gotye.]]
Throughout the novel we are exposed to Jack’s inclinations towards Schuyler, and this song speaks to his feelings towards his bondmate Mimi.

9:54 Song 4
Speak Now, Taylor Swift
While the ending of the novel doesn’t end as cleanly as a Taylor Swift song, the essence of it is the same.

After participating in this meme the last couple of weeks, the song connections are coming to me a lot quicker than they did initially.
