So the reason I haven’t been posting blogs recently is because I’ve been caught up in reading the Vampire Academy Series again. This series consists of six books titled, “Vampire Academy,” “Frost Bite,” “Shadow Kiss,” “Blood Promise,” “Spirit Bound,” and “Last Sacrifice.” I believe this is the third time that I’ve read the entire series and it never fails to keep me going. Even though I know what happens and how it eventually turns out, delving in the adventure and romance is fantastic. I absolutely love this series. It was recommended to me about five years ago when I worked at my local library. Since starting the series I can’t leave it alone for too long. Especially with the spin-off series “Bloodlines” going as well.
Richelle has never failed me when it comes to her novels. I end up loving every aspect of it. (Even though the more I read the series, the more typos I catch. I caught at least two in the last few chapters of the sixth book.)
For those who have not read the Vampire Academy series, here is the goodreads summary for the first book:
“St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger… Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.”
While many people dread movies being made based off their favorite books, I absolutely love it. The Vampire Academy movie will be titled, “Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters” and it is scheduled to be released on Valentines day next year. I can not be more excited. Looking at the cast line up, it looks like it is going to be amazing. Especially with the man they found to play Dimitri!!
I am extremely hopeful that this first film will go wonderfully because of the devoted fans already in love with it, as well as the actors and actresses whom already interact with their fans through social media. Needless to say I will be at the movies on Valentines day. Most likely without a date, but Dimitri on screen is all I’ll need to be happy.
